We found ourselves lucky once again in getting an interview, this time with Christopher Chia, CEO of TEC Interactive (publishers of Sevencore Asia). So we took the opportunity to ask some of those questions about the game that a lot of you have been wondering about.
Hi Christopher, thanks for the opportunity to ask these questions
You're welcome, it's a pleasure to be here.
At present there are 3 races with 3 classes within Sevencore - are there any plans to expand on these?
There is already a 4th race and a 4th class planned which the developer has shown us. In due time after OBT, we will follow the development plan from Noria and integrate the new character and class into the game.
The characters themselves are very customisable, but what options are there to make the clothing/weapons unique?
The developer has shared that they want to make this game more interesting by having more cosmetic costumes and casual items such as a cigar (www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H6wfasx8B8). Those costumes and casual items can be bought from the Item Mall, while some can be found in the game or through organised events.
If players wish to reset their skill points, is there a way to do this in-game or is it planned to be made available via micro transactions?
There are 2 items from the item mall. One is known as the Potion of Oblivion (Reset Combat Skills and Reset Skill Points based on Character Level) and the Potion of a Meister (Reset Crafting Skills and Reset Craft Skill Points based on Character Level). Both the items are currently available only from the mall. We do not know if it will be available from mobs in the near future.
Will you be bringing out different mounts purchasable through the cash shop?
There are many ways to get an egg from the game. The easiest way is through quests and every elite mob has a chance of dropping an egg of it's kind resemblance wise. There is also a random mount chest from the mall which gives you a random egg when you open it.
And what variety of items will be in the cash shop?
Cosmetic items and items which boosts a character's experience growth rate, item drop rate, gold drop rate, inventory/warehouse expansion, potions to increase HP & MP, items to improve upgrading success rate, etc.
We see and hear lots about the hover vehicles; can you tell us more about them?
The mechanical mount will come into the game at later stage. From level 1 to 60, it will mostly be dependable on beast mounts. Mechanical mounts can be obtained from quests or from the collection of mechanical parts which drops from the game mobs in higher levels to be assembled into a vehicle.
And what level do these become available?
I would say that mechanical mount will come in from level 80 and above. After 3 months launching of the Korean server, there are already a handful of level 80 players.
And do they need to be levelled up like regular mounts?
Yes, it is with the same concept as the beast mount.
A lot is made of crafting early on in the game, but just how viable is it going to be?
Crafting skill is very important at higher levels. At higher levels, a good crafting skill could net you a better chance at crafting a good weapon, armour or accessory which gives you a random extra bonus.
We've seen those level 98 sea creatures near the starter zone, is this a hint as to the maximum level?
The level limit is 200. But we will follow our developer's plan and increase the level cap at different stages.
Sevencore has a lot of great PvE content, but how are fans of PvP being catered for?
There are many type of PvP events such as 4 vs 4, 8 vs 8 in a special arena as well for Guild Wars and a variety of event wars.
At what level does PK become available and is there any kind of penalty system built-in?
We are still in discussion with our developer on PK issue. However, at lower level there will be no PK option. (Just regular duels for PvP, you can even bet on it)
With the Guild vs Guild battles - is there a limit to the number of combatants?
We do not know as yet and we'll update you when we know more.
Just what are these occupations and how do they affect other aspects of game play?
Occupation War are wars where respective Guilds can capture territories in the game. With the captured territory, they received additional benefits to all guild members.
What plans are there for end-game raiding for those fans of PvE Raids?
The occupation war has a strong element of raiding atmosphere. Capturing and enemy territory in the map, etc.
Are there plans for future content and expansions?
The developer has a group of more than 70 staff and they are committed to development work for future improvement to the game. We can expect more to come from the developer.
Finally, is there a date for the Open Beta, and do you have a release schedule yet?
CBT Server Opening Time :16th of July, at 9am SGT ~ 24th of July, at 9am SGT
OBT Server Opening Time: 26th of July at 9am SGT
A launch date has not been finalized yet.
